What sparked your interest in nursing?
I chose nursing as a career for many reasons. While being employed as a phlebotomist, I really enjoyed working with patients. However, I wanted to be more involved in their care. As a nurse, I knew I could ensure patients were receiving the highest quality of care possible. I also love that each day is different in the life of a nurse. To me, nursing isn’t just about treating a patient physically, but being there for them and their families emotionally. I knew the UNMC College of Nursing-Lincoln would allow me to grow as a person and to become the best nurse I could possibly become.

Your favorite study snack is:

Starbucks Soy Caramel Macchiato. It’s dangerous having a Starbucks around the corner from school!

Your favorite app is:

NCLEX RN Mastery. However, I use my Blackboard app the most.

Three things people may not know about you.

  • Growing up, I traveled with my church youth group doing mission work in Montana and Mexico.
  • I will be running in the Lincoln National Guard Half Marathon on May 3.
  • I sang in a select choir throughout high school.
