Tell us a bit about what you do here at UNMC.
As an employee relations specialist, I partner and coach managers to investigate and be proactive in matters relating to employee relations, complaints and grievances. I also manage conflict by looking at ways to provide a win/win solution with managers and employees. Also, I provide employees an understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act and leave-of-absence policies and procedures.
“Working together” is one of UNMC’s brand values. Tell us about a time you’ve seen people “working together” at UNMC.
Because UNMC provides extraordinary care, I’ve seen employees work together in many areas. It was remarkable to see employees work closely to care for the Ebola patients. In Employee Relations, we provide employee development sessions. Employees are excited to come together and share ideas of their experience at UNMC and receive information that provides professional growth. Working together in many areas is what UNMC is all about.
What is your favorite spring activity?
