Dawn Venema, Ph.D., assistant professor in physical therapy education, has been named the recipient of the Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy (AGPT) Excellence in Geriatric Research Award for 2015. The Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy was formed in 1978 to address the needs of physical therapy practitioners working with aging clients.

Five careers supported by educational programs at the School of Allied Health Professions were named to the 2015 U.S.News & World Report 100 Best Jobs list:
Physical therapy is No. 5 in health care jobs and No. 6 overall.
Physician assistant is No. 7 in health care jobs and No. 10 overall.
Diagnostic medical sonography is No. 8 in health care jobs and No. 12 overall.
Dietitian and nutritionist is No. 14 in health care jobs and No. 29 overall.
Radiologic technologist is No. 15 in health care jobs and No. 32 overall.
Registration open for 2015 Lymphoma Study Group and Hematology Highlights
Registration is now open for the 2015 Lymphoma Study Group and Hematology Highlights conference, to be held Feb. 20-21 at the Hilton Omaha Hotel. The two-day event is intended for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, residents and fellows in the specialty areas of oncology, hematology, internal medicine, radiation oncology and pathology.
