Alumni reunion set for this weekend

More than 200 UNMC alumni and their guests from the colleges of medicine, nursing and pharmacy will return to Omaha and the UNMC campus this weekend for events as part of the Alumni Reunion Weekend.

Alumni attending the reunion represent class years ranging from 1949 through 2004 and hail from 29 states.

Activities during Alumni Weekend include: walking tours of campus, a narrated Ollie the Trolley tour of Omaha, the Welcome Back lunch, a conversation with Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., class parties across Omaha, continuing education, and the annual Celebration & Awards Banquet.

At the Celebration & Awards Banquet, the alumni chapters will recognize three distinguished alumni and one honorary alumnus. The award recipients include:

  • Nancy L. Waltman, Ph.D.(BSN ’67, MSN ’78): College of Nursing Alumni Chapter Distinguished Alumnus Award.
  • Robert T. Hall, M.D., 1964: College of Medicine Alumni Chapter Distinguished Alumnus Award.
  • Leo J. McCarthy, M.D. 1964: College of Medicine Alumni Chapter Distinguished Alumnus Award.
  • Nancy N. Woelfl, Ph.D.: College of Medicine Alumni Chapter Honorary Alumnus Award.
