Portion of 41st Street to be blocked

In an effort to extend alternate power feeder circuits to the new Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center and the existing Medical Sciences Building, Durham Outpatient Center and Munroe-Meyer Institute facilities, a portion of 41st Street will be blocked to pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

Work is scheduled to begin Tuesday on the street between Dewey Avenue and Harney Street and continue through Thursday.

This work also is connected to the construction occurring in the Healing Hands courtyard. Landscaping within the courtyard will be temporarily removed or damaged due to the use of heavy excavation equipment. The scenery within the courtyard will become unsightly before it is restored in the spring of 2015.
