  • Midtown Clinic certified as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) by the Joint Commission, among the earliest ambulatory organizations in the nation to be PCMH certified.
  • Baker Place and Midtown Clinics to serve as a site for an expanding hospital-supported partnership with Legal Aid of Nebraska to provide services to a vulnerable population beyond social work support, education of patients and physicians and strengthen our PCMH model.

Significant research:

  • Midtown Multimorbidity Project – PI: Jason Shiffermiller, M.D., assistant professor. Funded by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska with the primary goal to reduce hospitalization and emergency room visits made by high-risk patients with two or more chronic diseases, while improving the outcomes of their disease management.
  • Greater Plains Collaborative (GPC) Clinical Data Research Network – Co-investigator James Campbell, M.D., professor. A new network of 10 leading medical centers in seven states committed to a shared vision of improving health care delivery through ongoing learning, adoption of evidence-based practices and active research dissemination. Federally funded by Patient Centered Outcome Research Institute (PCORI).
