Each Thursday, we randomly feature a medical center employee. This week, we learn more about:
- Name: Toni Winters
- Hometown: Salt Lake City
- No. of years at UNMC: Six and a half years
Tell us a bit about what you do here at UNMC.
I am the secretary to Alan Langnas, D.O., and Timothy McCashland, M.D. They keep me busy with travel, clinics, scheduling meetings. I try to make their lives here at work easier and keep them doing what they need to be doing. I am also the fellowship coordinator for transplant and have various and sundry other things that fall into my “duties as assigned.”
Being a trusted resource is one of UNMC’s brand values. Tell us of a time you witnessed a person or group act as a trusted resource at UNMC.
I see this on a daily basis with people helping each other out, whether it is telling someone the right person to contact for something or helping a fellow coworker out. I know that I have my go-to people that help me out when I need it!
What is your favorite summer activity?
Anything with the outdoors: Camping, sailing, fishing or being with family and friends.
List three things people may not know about you.
This is hard since I am basically an open book.
- When I was 13, I spent a month at a horse ranch, learning how to ride and care for them.
- I moved to Omaha for an ex-boyfriend and stayed due to a family friend’s advice. I have lived in Omaha for 11 years! (I never anticipated I would live here this long.)
- I have the same birthday as one of my older brothers.
Toni is always happy and bubbly and helpful. She is a great asset to our team……Debb
Toni – I think you are amazing! You are one of my Go-To people!!!
