Retirement reception for Elaine McIntosh set for Monday

Elaine McIntosh

Elaine McIntosh, administrator for the Department of Psychiatry, is retiring after 19 years of service. The department is hosting a retirement reception from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday, June 30, in University Tower’s Private Dining Room C.

McIntosh was employed through Creighton University in 1995 when she was hired as an administrative director for the UNMC Department of Psychiatry, which at the time was a program run jointly through Creighton University and UNMC.

“Elaine’s strong background in finance and recognition of the ever-increasing mental health needs of our community have made her a vital part of our department,” said Steven Wengel, M.D., chair of the department. “Her strong organizational and leadership skills have been invaluable to the success and growth of the department during challenging economic times. We are sad to see her leave our ranks, but happy that she can now enjoy a well-earned retirement after so many years of hard work and dedication to UNMC.”

The farewell reception for McIntosh is open to the campus.
