Pew and Stewart Trust launch scholars program targeting cancer

The Pew Charitable Trusts and the Alexander and Margaret Stewart Trust have launched a new program aimed at providing funding for young cancer researchers with novel ideas for preventing, treating, and eventually curing cancer.

Each year, five promising early-career scientists will receive funding for research aimed at finding cures for cancer using approaches that include genetics, pharmacology, and structural biology.

The Pew-Stewart scholars are assistant professor-level cancer researchers. They receive funding over four years and will have the opportunity to collaborate with Pew biomedical scholars and Latin American fellows at Pew’s annual biomedical meeting.
