Tickets are now on sale for the June 8 Garden Walk. The annual walk, which is open to the public, is hosted by the Munroe-Meyer Guild, a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities through fundraising for UNMC's Munroe-Meyer Institute. What: The Munroe-Meyer Guild's 46th Garden Walk features five fantastic midtown Omaha gardens, as well as free admission to the Joslyn Castle gardens with purchase of a ticket. Individuals can stroll through backyards to view unique and creative displays in landscaping, plants, flowers and water features. Master gardeners also will be present at the gardens. Vendors will be located at the Joslyn Castle gardens. When: Sunday, June 8, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., rain or shine. Where: Individuals can tour the following gardens at their leisure:
- Elmwood Park, 808 S. 67th St.
- Dillon's Fairacres, 718 J.E. George Blvd.
- Memorial Park, 725 N. 57th St.
- Dundee, 5121 Cuming St.
- Dundee, 308 S. 51st Ave.
- Joslyn Castle, 3902 Davenport St.
Why: Proceeds from the event benefit the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute for children and adults with developmental disabilities. In the past, funds have supported:
- Gait training to improve walking in children with cerebral palsy.
- Stipends for graduate students preparing to teach children with disabilities.
- Social skills training for children and adolescents with severe social impairments.

Children younger than 5 admitted free. No strollers are allowed in the gardens.
