UNMC College of Nursing to host information sessions about doctoral nursing degrees in Lincoln, Omaha Oct. 9, 11

The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing invites those interested in pursuing doctoral degrees in nursing to attend information sessions in Omaha or Lincoln.

College representatives will be on hand to talk about the doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) and doctor of nursing practice degrees (D.N.P.). A Ph.D. prepares individuals for leadership roles in research, education, practice, health policy and administration. The D.N.P. is the highest practice-focused degree in nursing, designed to prepare experts in specialized advanced practice nursing.

Sessions also will include how to select the right degree, how to finance a degree and how to juggle life as a student.

Below are the dates, times and locations of the sessions.

Omaha — Sunday, Oct. 9 from 1 to 3 p.m., UNMC College of Nursing Center for Nursing Science, 41st St. & Dewey Ave., 3rd Floor, Student Atrium. Parking is available in Lot 41 on the corner of 41st & Dewey behind the Administration Center building.

Lincoln – Tuesday, Oct. 11 from 3 to 6 p.m., UNMC College of Nursing Lincoln Division, 1230 O St., Suite 131, Commerce Court (Wells Fargo Building). Parking is available at Rampark Parking Garage, 1225 P St. (between "O" Street and "P" Streets or on P Street between 13th and 14th.
