Country music star Sara Evans to perform at 2011 Cattlemen’s Ball

Major fundraising event to fight cancer scheduled for June 3-4 in West Point

 
WEST POINT, NE – Sara Evans, an award-winning country star and one of People Magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People,” will headline the entertainment at the 2011 Cattlemen’s Ball on Saturday, June 4. An accomplished artist and former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant, Evans has been confirmed for the event, which will be held at the Harry and Doris Knobbe feedlot west of West Point.
 
Evans hit the country scene in the late 90’s and since then has had four number one hits. Her “Born to Fly” album has been certified double platinum, sold over 5 million records and was the Female Vocalist of the Year in 2006. 
 
Evans’ Saturday evening performance on June 4 is just one of the many highlights of the 2011 Cattlemen’s Ball. Other activities include a prime rib dinner, dance, craft fair, fashion show, wine and beer tasting, silent auction and a dance following the Evans concert by regional favorites, Cactus Hill
 
A $75 Top Hand ticket provides admission to the event beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday and includes the dinner, dance and Evans concert. Trail Boss tickets, which can be purchased for $350, include a Friday social, private champagne reception and brunch on Saturday morning, commemorative gift, plus preferred seating for the Saturday evening dinner and concert.

The Cattlemen’s Ball is hosted by a different Nebraska ranch or feedlot every year. Its mission is to raise money for cancer research at the UNMC Eppley Cancer Center, while showcasing rural Nebraska and promoting beef as a part of a healthy diet.
 
Since its inception, the Cattlemen’s Ball has raised more than $4.7 million. In addition to providing funds to the Eppley Cancer Center, a portion of the funds also is given to local health care organizations.
