CityMatCH receives national recognition for work in improving public health

 

The American Public Health Association Maternal and Child Health Section presented its Effective Practice Award to CityMatCH for its outstanding dedication and contributions to the field of public health. CityMatCH is a national public health organization housed with the University of Nebraska Medical Center Department of Pediatrics.
 
The award, a second national award for CityMatCH this year, was presented recently during the association’s 138th APHA Annual Meeting and Exposition in Denver. The award recognizes significant contributions for effective public health practice in the community, state, tribal or national levels.
 
A partner with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention, CityMatCH represents a national membership of 163 city and county health departments’ maternal and child health programs, including Douglas County and Lincoln-Lancaster County health departments.
