Students in the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s High School Alliance gathered at the medical center on Aug. 16 for a day of orientation. Along with learning about compliance and safety issues, the students were able to get acquainted with each other. There are 36 students from 17 different high schools.
The alliance is a partnership between UNMC, eight metropolitan area school districts and an educational service unit. The goal of the alliance is to give high school juniors and seniors an opportunity to take college-level courses in preparation for careers in health care.
