Omaha’s first-ever nighttime bike ride is open to casual and serious riders of all ages and skill levels
The Owl Ride, Omaha’s first-ever nighttime urban cycling adventure, will be held Saturday, July 17, with riders beginning and finishing at the Lewis and Clark Landing on the downtown Omaha riverfront.
Riders will be able to choose between a 16-mile or 7-mile course winding through downtown, midtown, Dundee, Aksarben, Field Club and Old Market neighborhoods. It is a non-competitive format for both casual and serious riders of all ages and skill levels.
Three Owl Perches (rest stops) will be available on the course at Turner Park, Pitch Pizzeria in Dundee, and the Field Club. A concert featuring Playing with Fire will be held at Lewis and Clark Landing prior to the Owl Ride.
Cost is $25 for individuals/$50 for families. Registration can be completed online at www.owlride.com. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Meyer Foundation for Disabilities. The foundation helps people with developmental disabilities served by the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute.
