25 talented Omaha-area acts to compete for $1,000 during Sept. 22 Omaha’s Got Talent show

UNMC College of Pharmacy students invite public to show, proceeds to go towards cancer research, patient support services

Twenty-five talented Omaha-area acts will compete for a first-prize of $1,000 during the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy Class of 2009 Omaha’s Got Talent show on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m., at Central High School.

 
A variety of acts will compete, including 25 tap-dancing grannies, bands, singers and dancers, including a 4-year-old, and a 14-year-old magician on a unicycle.
Cost to attend is $20 for the public or $15 for UNMC students. Proceeds will go towards cancer research, and services for patients and families through the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Local celebrities will be paired with leukemia and lymphoma survivors who will judge the competition.
This is the first year of the show, which is spearheaded by Tess Andersen, third-year pharmacy student.
Those who attend the event are invited to join an after-party show at In Play Forte on 15th and Cuming Streets. Two bands will play and there will be free soda, free pizza, and free bowling.
Tickets are available for purchase online using PayPal at www.omahasgottalent.com, or by cash or check at the UNMC College of Pharmacy (42 nd  St. & Dewey Ave.) dean’s office (second floor), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., through Sept. 21.
Students will be selling tickets outside the Nebraska Café in University Tower Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
