UNMC College of Pharmacy Associate Professor, Jeffrey Baldwin, Pharm.D., receives American Pharmacists Association award

University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy Associate Professor, Jeffrey Baldwin, Pharm.D., is the 2007 recipient of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management Distinguished Achievement Award in Specialized Pharmacy Practice.
 
The award was presented recently at the association’s annual meeting in Atlanta. The award recognizes the achievements of an individual who has made a significant contribution or sustained contributions to the provision of pharmaceutical care within specialized pharmacy practice.
 
Dr. Baldwin was selected in recognition of his distinguished career dedicated to student pharmacist and pharmacist substance abuse assistance and education. He is cited for having a significant impact on the recognition of pharmacy as an authoritative source for the substance abuse information and recovery assistance.
 
Dr. Baldwin was co-founder of the Heartland Pharmacists Recovery Network Conference, which has successfully served 10 state programs and is now in its fifteenth year. For 10 years, Dr. Baldwin chaired the AACP Special Interest Group on Substance Abuse Education and Assistance, coordinating development of substance abuse assistance policy and educational guidelines for pharmacy colleges.
