University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry students,
faculty and staff received honors and awards during the colleges 15th
Annual Professionals Day on Friday, March 16. The event celebrates scholarly
activities and provides students, faculty and the dental community an opportunity
to share professional and academic activities.

Student Awards
Porterville, Calif. — J. Brant Darby — Pierre Fauchard Academy Dental
Student Scholarship Award — In 1996, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an international
honor dental organization, through its Foundation, initiated a Dental Student
Scholarship Award program for all U.S. dental schools. The award
is to honor an individual who has demonstrated great potential of developing
into an outstanding leader in the dental profession. Qualities of intelligence,
imagination, initiative, and integrity, as well as communicative skills
are to enter into the selection. The award carries with it a check for
$1,500.
Richland, Wash. Trevor Larson — Dr. Raymond Steinacher Award
— The Department of Adult Restorative Dentistry has created this award
to honor Dr. Ray Steinacher, an outstanding faculty member of the College
for 36 years. Dr. Steinacher was a highly respected teacher who inspired
and motivated students and colleagues with his integrity and dedication
to patient service. This award recognizes outstanding didactic and
clinical skills in prosthodontics.
