April 4 – Harman Lecture, noon, Durham Research Center Auditorium, featuring David Sinclair, Ph.D., Harvard University professor of genetics.

April 24-27 – Nebraska Science Festival. Jeff Corwin, host of “Animal Planet,” will be the featured presenter on April 25 at the Joslyn Art Museum. Tickets are free, but must be picked up on Feb. 22 at the Joslyn Art Museum to reserve your place.

May 6 – Circle of Distinction event celebrating COM faculty who hold endowed chairs and professorships and the donors whose generosity made the honors possible. By invitation only, 5:30 p.m., Truhlsen Events Center.

May 19 – 100th anniversary celebration for UNMC Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

June 2-6 – Celebration of the 10th anniversary of UNMC’s relationship with China will be held sometime this week.

June 6-7 — The 2014 Cattlemen’s Ball will be hosted by the Hoot Owl Ranch near Harrisburg, Neb., which is near the Wyoming border. Kenny and Misty Stauffer are ranch managers, while Jeff and Kathy May own the ranch.

June 7 – Polo for Patients, an equestrian style fundraiser, will be held at Levi Carter Park. All proceeds will benefit the Patient Assistance Fund, a resource that provides support for basic needs such as transportation, lodging, clothing and food for patients and their families.
