NOCCC hosts April 2 community reception for new UNMC chancellor

Residents of north Omaha are invited to a community reception to meet new University of Nebraska Medical Center Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., on April 2.

Hosted by the North Omaha Community Care Council, the reception will be at the Love’s Jazz and Arts Center, 2510 N. 24th St., from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.

“I am looking forward to meeting the people of north Omaha and hearing their thoughts on how UNMC can better partner with this community to meet their health needs,” Dr. Gold said.

“It’s important for the new chancellor to meet the thought-leaders in north Omaha and extend his hand of fellowship from UNMC,” said Sherri Nared, president of the North Omaha Community Care Council.

“And it’s just as important for him to come into the community and meet us as it is for us to meet him,” Nared said.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend this reception, she said.

Through world-class research and patient care, UNMC generates breakthroughs that make life better for people throughout Nebraska and beyond. Its education programs train more health professionals than any other institution in the state. Learn more at unmc.edu and follow us on social media.
