Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center: Project update

picture disc.

Construction of the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center continues to progress with project-related utilities, site preparations and deep foundations. The following notifications were posted for the week of Feb. 24:

New staff passageway to bypass construction site. In an effort to improve construction site safety and positively impact the project schedule and budget, the pedestrian walkway along Durham Research Plaza (45th Street) will be closed. Employees are asked to bypass the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center project site by following the passageway from the Durham Outpatient Center (DOC) to Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI) in the accompanying illustration. Directional signage will be posted to help navigate. Provisions have been made to accommodate MMI patients formerly using Lot 2 with supplemental parking and valet service.

Pedestrian access along Durham Research Plaza (45th Street) is anticipated to remain closed through October.
