OneTeam forums to be held in early January

Editor's note: Here's a OneTeam update from Dr. Brad Britigan, clinical enterprise president, and William Dinsmoor, clinical enterprise CEO.

We wanted to share a short message to keep you posted on everything that’s happening with OneTeam. As you may remember, we had hoped to hold  employee and physician forums for everyone across the enterprise this month. With work still progressing and the holidays coming up, we thought it best to wait until early January to fill you in on some very important developments. We know your time is valuable, so we want to make sure we have complete information to share when we all get together. We’re planning a forum for early January. You’ll receive notification when the date has been set.

Since our last update, leaders from the hospitals, clinics and UNMC have been working together on the new leadership structure for our clinical enterprise. We know there will be questions about what’s changing and what’s staying the same. We hope to be able to answer those questions at our forums next month.

2014 will be in important and exciting year. Aside from the continuing work of aligning our clinical operations, we will welcome new UNMC Chancellor Dr. Jeffrey Gold Feb. 1. Construction on the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center is moving ahead and we’re going to really see it begin to take shape next year. We continue to make great strides partnering with Methodist Health Systems in our Accountable Care Alliance. Along those same lines, the regional provider network we’ve talked about internally is starting to take shape and the public reaction to it has been very favorable.

It will be a challenging year as well. We’ll begin 2014 knowing that the expertise, caring and innovation of everyone here puts us in the best possible position to accept those challenges.

We’d like to share our sincere wishes for a wonderful holiday season and happy new year for you and your families.
