A picture is worth 1,000 words. A well-done video can invoke powerful emotions. The public relations department uses these tools to help show and tell UNMC’s stories.
Multimedia manager Rich Watson joined UNMC this summer from KMTV-Channel 3. His work is featured on our website, Youtube channel and in publications like Connect and Discover.
To request his services, an online form is available on the web and in the interactive media section of the PR website, and can be found through the Services page on info.unmc.edu.
Fees for photo and video work are listed on the form.
The PR department also maintains a list of preferred photography and graphics vendors, and a list of videography vendors will soon be available. Some requests will be referred to preferred vendors.
Guidelines for photography/videography requests:
- Requests must support the strategic plan and campus mission and/or have broad appeal and relevance to the UNMC community.
- An online photo/video request form must be completed and submitted.
- Requests should be submitted at least two weeks in advance of the event date. The PR department will do its best to accommodate last-minute requests.
- UNMC’s Public Relations Department will share rights of the photos and videos for potential use on UNMC’s website and in publications and printed materials.
Faculty/staff portraits
The PR department also offers headshots free of charge to faculty and staff members.
Portraits are scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursdays in the south foyer of the Sorrell Center. There is no charge for portraits taken during this time, but reservations must be made at least one week in advance using the online request form.
Portrait appointments also can be requested for other times, but the minimum fee of $50 will apply.
If you have questions, please contact Stacie Hamel, associate director, web & interactive media, in the PR department, 9-6668.
Welcome aboard Rich!
