Oct. 7-11 – Innovation Week, annual weeklong celebration sponsored by UNeMed, UNMC’s technology transfer company.

Oct. 11 — The second annual Advances in Parkinson’s Care Conference at the DoubleTree Hotel in downtown Omaha. The conference – intended for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, occupational and physical therapists – will address the need for coordination of care, clinical guidelines for assessment and management, and an update on the current research for the care of the Parkinson’s patient. Speakers include UNMC’s John Bertoni, M.D., Ph.D., and Diego Torres-Russotto, M.D., both neurological sciences.

Nov. 3-5 — UNMC faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend the Rural Futures Conference in Lincoln. The theme for the 2013 Rural Futures Conference is “Beyond Boundaries,” which encourages people to step beyond their typical boundaries and work together to create positive rural futures. The upcoming conference will celebrate the importance of rural and create energy and enthusiasm for new and innovative ways to address complex opportunities and challenges.
