The Omaha Community Playhouse is offering discounted tickets to the May 8 through 12 performances of the stage comedy “A Night with the Family.”
Tickets, regularly $35, are only $23 for UNMC employees, faculty and students and can be reserved by calling Lora Kaup, OCP director of sales at (402) 553-4890, ext. 147. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
The hilarious comedy, written by Matthew Ivan Bennett, is having its world premiere at the playhouse. The action follows a quirky family – a hippie father addicted to fake swear words, an overbearing mother with a French-Canadian ballet-dancing fiance, a coddled son prone to panic attacks and a level-headed daughter trying to make sense of it all.
Science Cafe tonight
David Holt, program director for clinical perfusion at UNMC, will discuss the mystery, science and art of the heart-lung machine at tonight’s Omaha Science Cafe at 7 p.m. at the Slowdown, 729 N. 14th St.
