A message that should be heard
“I think it’s a message that should be heard,” said Audrey Paulman, M.D., of UNMC. “Integrated lifestyle medicine needs more awareness and this conference will provide participants with tools they can use in their own practice.”
Clinicians will also learn new strategies, resources and patient counseling techniques. Ten continuing education credits will also be available for physicians, nurses, medical assistants, social workers, physical therapists and occupational therapists.
“This conference is designed to be educational and interactive,” Paulman said. “It is designed to provide the knowledge, skills, and tools to healthcare professionals so that they may promote healthy lifestyles in their clinics and patients.”
Guest speakers will include Edward Phillips, M.D., director of the Harvard Institute of Lifestyle Medicine and co-author of “Exercise is Medicine”; Jeremy Lazarus, M.D., president of the American Medical Association; and Matt Davison, former Husker star athlete and current Husker broadcaster.
