Cattlemen put rubber to the road to battle cancer

This limited edition Corvette is being raffled off. Tickets are $500; only 1,000 will be sold.

Fund-raisers are revving their engines as this year’s Cattlemen’s Ball approaches.

As part of the event, organizers are offering limited chances on a 60th anniversary Grand Sport Corvette. Only 1,000 chances will be sold, at $500 each, for a shot at the limited edition sports car, valued at $75,000.

For those who prefer their four wheels with a truck on top of them, the Cattlemen’s Ball also is raffling off a 2013 Ford F150 King Ranch Super Crew Cab four-by-four pickup, valued at more than $49,000. Again, only 1,000 tickets – this time, each only $100 – will be sold.

To purchase the raffle tickets, contact Rick Kolkman, First National Bank of North Platte, at (308) 535-6400 or at rkolkman@fnbnp.com. Checks can be mailed to:

The 2013 Cattlemen’s Ball will take place June 7 and 8 on the Hanging H Ranch on U.S. Highway 30 east of Paxton, Neb. The event is co-hosted by the Ralph and Beverly Holzfaster family and the Neal Hansen family. The Cattlemen’s Ball is the state’s premier fundraiser for the fight against cancer, with all the funds raised staying in Nebraska. The organization is a longtime supporter of the Eppley Cancer Center. This year’s theme is “On the Trail to a Cure.”

The Corvette was donated by Harchelroad Motors, Inc., Imperial, Neb. The Ford was donated by the Woodhouse Auto Family.
