Olson Center hires new clinic manager

Mitzi Johnson has been named the new clinic manager for the Olson Center for Women’s Health at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Johnson worked in the medical center’s OB/GYN Clinic from 1995 to 2004 before leaving to work in the health care technology industry. Since 2008, she has served as clinic manager for the department of orthopaedic surgery and rehabilitation for UNMC Physicians, the medical center’s physician practice plan.

Johnson, who has a master’s degree in health care administration from Bellevue University, had a lead role in helping to implement the new electronic health record system at the medical center.

The Olson Center was originally established in 1993 with a major gift from Leland Olson, M.D., an Omaha OB/GYN physician, and his late wife, Dorothy. In 2007, the Olson Center expanded with the opening of the Olson Center for Women’s Health on the fourth floor of the Durham Outpatient Center.

The Olson Center for Women’s Health provides comprehensive services for women in one outpatient facility with physicians and other health care professionals in obstetrical and gynecological care, internal medicine, radiology, laboratory support and subspecialties such as cardiology, gastroenterology and endocrinology.
