Karen Grigsby, Ph.D., appointed to interim post at UNMC College of Nursing

Karen Grigsby, Ph.D., has been appointed interim associate dean for academic programs at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing. She currently is chair of the college’s Department of Family & Health Systems and will continue to serve in that role.

“Dr. Grigsby is an excellent choice to move us forward in this time of transition,” said Juliann  Sebastian, Ph.D., dean of the college. “I am impressed by her leadership abilities, judgment and  ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students and throughout UNMC and our communities of interest.”

Dr. Grigsby has served on the UNMC faculty since 1989. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Cincinnati in 1969, her master’s degree from the University of Colorado in 1973 and her doctorate in 1988 from the University of Texas-Austin.

A national search will be conducted to fill the position.
