A shout out to those who work in the heat

UNMC Today thanks workers from facilities, general supply, security and other medical center groups who have had to brave the extreme heat outside, in warehouses and other hot venues the past few weeks.

To all you folks, wear sunblock, stay hydrated and know that we appreciate the vital work that you do so well!

Obviously this is a miserable time to be out for long periods of time. I am not sure if the prolonged cabin fever of being inside is better or worse! Let's all be grateful that this time of year does end. Thanks, guys, for being stoic about all the heat and continuing to work thru it.

Yes, I appreciate them! I feel awful for the folks who work out in the heat all day. Ten minutes is fine, but all day, and doing any kind of labor…ugh. I'll be doing a rain dance again this afternoon.
