Forty-seven high school students from 10 metro-area school districts and 19 high schools will graduate from the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s High School Alliance program on Tuesday, May 22.
A graduation ceremony and reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Science Education on the UNMC campus. Each student will receive a certificate of completion.
For the past nine months the students participated in a range of courses including infectious diseases, anatomy and medial decision making.
The courses – specifically designed for high school students – were taught by UNMC faculty on the medical center campus. The High School Alliance program provides students a unique hands-on learning experience that is different from what students would have access to at their high school. Most of the courses offered in the program are eligible for dual enrollment college credit.
