What is your best memory from your time at UNMC? Being a two time recipient of the Silver 'U' Award was honorable. It provided me the opportunity to sit down with the chancellor for lunch. The experience was not only humbling and rewarding; it was pleasant and will always be memorable. Our four brand values are leadership, commitment to excellence, working together and being a trusted resource. Pick one and tell us a time you witnessed it embodied at UNMC. I witnessed a team spirit like no other during Christmas of 2010 in the Administration Building. We had a single mother in our building who was unable to give her children Christmas gifts that year. A special elf heard about it and thought we should help out. This special elf and some holiday helpers shopped, wrapped gifts and collected money toward the purchase of a food certificate and delivery of a fully decorated Christmas tree that was all presented to the family at a house brunch. I still get a little emotional thinking about it. List three things people may not know about you.

  • I played point guard as a freshman on the girls varsity basketball team at Omaha Central High School.
  • My family thinks I'm an excellent cook. It's "Soul Food Sunday" every week at my house and it provides an opportunity for our family to come together to share some of our favorite dishes, stories, and laughter.
  • I am passionate about singing and serving at my church. I sing alto and tenor in the Celestial, Gospel and Mass Choirs and serve as a mentor and co-coordinator of planning programs and outreach events and activities for our youth.
