Each Thursday, we randomly feature a medical center employee. This week, we learn more about Giovanni Jones, postdoc education and interprofessional education associate in academic affairs.

- Name: Giovanni Jones
- Hometown: Omaha
- Number of years at UNMC: 31 days this time. Three years total (see below).
What is your best memory from your time at UNMC? Interactions with students, faculty and staff are monumental for me. I garner great fulfillment in being able to provide services, offer resources and learn more about other departments on campus. I am entrusted to capture this information and share it with others. Knowing that students, faculty and staff will benefit from the information reinforces the belief that what we do here at UNMC really does matter. Our four brand values are leadership, commitment to excellence, working together and being a trusted resource. Pick one and tell us a time you witnessed it embodied at UNMC. I strongly believe that if you possess a commitment to excellence you also epitomize the other three values. I am privileged to be a part of the Interprofessional Education Curriculum Committee. I have yet to witness a time when only one of these values stood alone as members work together to ensure students are receiving an invaluable education experience. The Postdoc Education department's commitment to keeping UNMC at the forefront in research and preparing students for gainful employment can only be done using the values that UNMC embodies. List three things people may not know about you.
- I have been rappelling, parasailing, snorkeling, canoeing, tubing, and up in a hot air balloon. I recently tried skiing and will go zip lining this summer. I hope to tandem skydive soon and look forward to other endeavors.
- Cooking and baking are ways I relieve stress. I love to host functions at my house and watch guests enjoy the meal I have created. I get the most requests for fried turkey and Mexican.
- This is my second time on UNMC's campus, and it's an exciting time to be here. … I was a coordinator for the SMDEP program and recently bumped into a former participant. She had such an enjoyable experience that she is now an M1 and will work for SMDEP this summer!
