Spring Fling gets started at 11:30, Fire dance starts at noon

The forecast calls for sunshine, no rain and temps in the high 50s for UNMC’s Spring Fling, which runs today from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Watch UNMC’s Ken Hill and his renowned fire spinning talents, which will be on display today during UNMC’s annual Spring Fling.

Head over to the Ruth and Bill Scott Student Plaza where you can grab a lunch, watch a performance by UNMC’s Ken Hill, a nationally recognized fire dancer, participate in a paper airplane contest and purchase UNMC gear.

Hill’s performance starts at noon. The paper airplane contest runs throughout the event.

Here are more facts about UNMC’s Spring Fling:

• Bring lunch or purchase (cash only) hamburgers, grilled chicken, hot dogs or veggie burgers on site from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The $5 meals also include bottled water and a choice of chips or whole fruit;
  
• Enjoy UNMC cookies, which will be distributed free while they last by UNMC’s Human Resources and Public Relations staff;
  
• Purchase the UNMC apparel and merchandise onsite from the UNMC Bookstore including a variety of T-shirts ($7 each or two for $12), UNMC Nike bags ($10), UNMC Polo shirts ($15) and UNMC Camelbak waterbottles ($12); and
  
• Visit the C-store inside the Sorrell Center for all-day appreciation deals: $1 coffees/cappuccinos — any size.
