Amnesty Week
Several events and features are slated at the library next week as part of McGoogan’s celebration of National Library Week. |
Do you have overdue books or late fees? Come to the library next week and the circulation staff will be happy to help you clean those smudges off your record. Late fee forgiveness applies for fines up to $10.
Outreach treats
UNMC students, including College of Nursing students in Kearney, Lincoln, Scottsbluff and Norfolk, and the College of Dentistry students in Lincoln will receive treats from the library during the week.
Open house
Join staff members on Wednesday from noon to 3 p.m. for a McGoogan Open House and grab a quick snack. Staff will be on hand to answer questions about:
- The physical library;
- Hard-to-find articles;
- Ordering your dissertation;
- Historic books;
- Literature searches; and
- Pretty much anything else you can think to ask about the library.
A rare treat
And while you’re at the library, don’t forget to stop by the renovated Rare Book Rooms to look at historical texts and talk to a history of medicine specialist.
Student survival kit
Sunday through Thursday, students are encouraged to visit the library and enter a drawing for the Student Survival Kit. The drawing will be held Friday. The kit is chock full of student necessities such as:
- Snacks;
- Earplugs;
- A UNMC t-shirt;
- Food certificates;
- Travel mugs and other goodies.
Library video premier
The McGoogan Library’s “You Belong @ Your Library” video also will premier at the library next week. The video showcases what the library means to students and staff, their education and their careers.
Starting next week, you’ll also be able to view the video on the library’s Facebook page.
