Jonathan Vennerstrom, Ph.D., professor of pharmaceutical sciences, has been appointed interim chairman of the department of pharmaceutical sciences in the College of Pharmacy.
He steps in for Dennis Robinson, Ph.D., who retired earlier this year after a 25-year stint at the college.
Dr. Vennerstrom has been with the College of Pharmacy for 24 years and is an international leader in the field of malaria research.
“Dr. Vennerstrom is one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical scientists and I’m thrilled he’s decided to fill this role on an interim basis as we search for a new permanent chairman,” said Courtney Fletcher, Pharm.D., dean of the College of Pharmacy.
