The art of Thomas Eakins the focus of Science Cafe

The significance of paintings by artist Thomas Eakins, whose images reflected late 19th century medical education and health care — will be the focus of Tuesday’s Omaha Science Cafe.

When: 7 p.m.

Where: Slowdown, 729 N. 14th St.

Who: Jack Becker, Ph.D., executive director and CEO of Joslyn Art Museum, will discuss Eakins’ work and its focus on medicine and intellectual life in Philadelphia in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Food: Free pizza, available for the first 50 people, will be provided by Nebraska Coalition for Lifesaving Cures.
