The campus art feature needs a name. Have any ideas?
Selection process: UNMC Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D., and a committee of others will choose the name from the submissions. The name will be unveiled at a formal dedication this fall.

For the winner: The person who comes up with the winning name for the art feature will receive four tickets to the opening weekend of “Chicago” at the Omaha Community Playhouse in September as well as some UNMC gear.

About the feature: The art feature is a 120-foot light tower by internationally renowned artist James Carpenter, who designed the piece to reflect the beautiful effects that occur in the Nebraska sky. If it’s a bright sunny day, it will appear to shimmer. At dusk, it will reflect the variety of colors that are in the sky.

Place on campus: The art feature — which was paid for entirely by private donations — is considered a key component in the creation of UNMC’s academic campus. Omaha philanthropists Ruth and Bill Scott made the lead donation on the art feature.
