You too could have a cool “summer do” like the one Allied Health’s Fran Higgins got at last year’s St. Baldrick’s event. This year’s hairshedding extravaganza takes place Friday at 1 p.m. in the Durham Outpatient Center West Atrium.
UNMC pediatric oncologist Bruce Gordon, M.D., and several others will give up their hair at the Shave-A-Thon to benefit The St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

When: 1 p.m.

Where: Durham Outpatient Center West Atrium

Why: To benefit the St. Baldrick’s Foundation — the world’s largest volunteer fundraising program for childhood cancer.

I want to help: If you are interested in donating to St. Baldrick’s Foundation or shaving your head for the cause, sign up at www.StBaldricks.org or contact Mandy Arens at 402-559-7749. Donations also will be accepted at the event.

Last year was a fantastic experience! I'd have done it again, but I didn't know about it until yesterday and will be out of town (no time to get donations). Guess I'll just have to donate this year, instead.
