Pam Cipriano, Ph.D., a research associate professor at the University of Virginia Health System School of Nursing and a national leader in the role of technology in patient safety will be the 22nd Visiting Nurse Scholar on Wednesday.

As a hospital and nursing executive, Dr. Cipriano led multiple patient care departments at academic medical centers for the past 20 years. In her most recent role, she served as chief nursing officer and chief clinical officer of the University of Virginia Health System from 2000 to 2009.
Those interested in hearing Dr. Cipriano speak can attend one of two large group sessions hosted by the Nebraska Medical Center in the Storz Pavilion Lower Level:
- 8 to 9:30 a.m. — “Managing Effective Transitions in Care”; and
- 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. – “Research: Exposing the Deadly Difference.”
