The School of Allied Health Professions appeared headed toward a win in Tuesday’s UNMC LiveGreen pledge race when all 334 of its students were dropped into its pledge category at midday.
This drastically skewed the percentages against Allied Health.
And because UNMC’s 934 nursing students had yet to be added to the College of Nursing category on Tuesday afternoon, the UNMC LiveGreen Pledge Wall of Fame seemed to indicate a College of Nursing victory.
“Do over!” pledge race officials declared upon hearing about the math glitch, borrowing a page from their elementary school touch football days.
As such, Allied Health/Nursing Part II will be replayed on Tuesday, March 8.

But the possibility of mathematical error, and the fact that both sides surely could generate more pledges than they did on Tuesday, also led to the “do over.”
“It works out considering neither side was what you would say, ‘tearing it up’ in terms of pledges on Tuesday,” an anonymous onlooker said upon hearing about the “do over.”
