Courage and social change focus of Thursday event

It isn’t always easy or comfortable. But having the courage to change your environment can alter the course of your life and those around you.

Clennon King will share stories of courage in his Thursday presentation, “Why Courage is Worth Catching: How courage can bring positive social change.”

King’s presentation starts at noon in the Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater.

King is an award-winning journalist and is known for his activism. He spent the bulk of his TV journalism career in the Sunbelt where he won awards for his efforts to uncover a slave labor camp in south Georgia, which abused homeless people.

Coming tomorrow King shares his views on how to implement courage in the workplace.

His activism was inspired by several family members, including a late uncle who was the first African American to run for U.S. President.

King’s presentation, held in recognition of Black History Month, is part of the Diversity Lectures and Cultural Arts Series for 2010-2011.
