UNMC LiveGreen website/pledge launches

UNMC LiveGreen — the new campuswide sustainability campaign — has launched a website that will be a one-stop-shop for all information related to the initiative.

About the campaign UNMC LiveGreen is a long-term sustainability campaign that was launched earlier this year. As part of the campaign — UNMC aims to cut campus energy expenditures by 25 percent in five years — a reduction that will save UNMC millions of dollars. News and updates about the UNMC LiveGreen initiative will be posted on the website.

The website contains information about how you can conserve energy and other resources on campus and at home and also is home to an online pledge employees can take to make UNMC a more sustainable workplace.

The pledge is adjustable to fit the various job functions found on campus. Employees who take it commit to specific actions within the context of their jobs that will help save energy and other resources.

Employees who take the pledge will be eligible to be recognized on the “UNMC LiveGreen Wall of Fame” on the UNMC LiveGreen website. Also, unit and departmental participation stats will be kept. Help your unit achieve 100 percent participation!

The website will be regularly updated with news and new features as the campaign continues so check back often.
