Gina was one of the strongest, resilient and caring people one could ever hope to meet and get to know in their life. She lived her life for her family and her patients, always making her issues the last thing to worry about. She will be missed.

Where to begin? Some of us knew her as Gina Magistretti, then she became Gina Behr. And to her family and close friends, she was "Moma Behr. I had the privilege of hiring Gina as a new Grad. where she worked on the PINs unit at IMC and then advanced to ICU. She then went on to grad. school and received her MSN/NP degree & certificate and worked in cardiology at Methodist. She later secured a position in cardiology here at the Med. Center and was Tom Sears "right hand" for several years. Gina then transferred to the Liver/SB Transplant service and worked as and inpatient NP on 5N. For those who attended her funeral, it was certainly testament to short life and the impact that she had in the brief time she was with us. I had the unique pleasure of seeing Gina grow from a new grad to a very competent and caring nurse practitioner. Many of us know how she suffered towards the end and how she worried about the impact of her health on her family and co-workers. In seeing her family at the funeral, Gina would have been proud and can rest assured that her legacy lives on through them. As Gina, they too are survivors, but it still is not the same without her. We miss her dearly and fill privileged that we had the opportunity to be touched by her during her short life time. She was indeed a very dear friend and colleague.
