Jennifer Crozier, shown here with her daughter, Grace, died Thursday after a long battle with cancer.

Crozier — the September 2008 Chancellor’s Gold U recipient — worked at UNMC since 2005. She had been general surgery residency coordinator since 2006.

“Jennifer touched many lives in our department and across campus, both in her work for us and also as she battled with her disease,” said Carin Borg, administrative director for the department of surgery.

After her diagnosis with breast cancer in early 2008, Crozier actively worked to raise awareness about the disease. She organized an awareness walk through UNMC’s Center for Healthy Living and was awarded $1,000 by Omaha television station WOWT in its “Pay it Forward” campaign.

A visitation service for Crozier will be held today from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in University Tower’s Private Dining Room A and B.
