Nicole Lindquist

John Benson, M.D., professor of internal medicine, and Nicole Lindquist, a writer and media specialist in UNMC public relations, recently were honored by local organizations.

Dr. Benson received the Metro Omaha Medical Society Distinguished Service to Medicine Award during the society’s annual meeting and inaugural meeting and dinner last week.

Dr. Benson received the award along with Creighton University’s Richard O’Brien, M.D. They were honored for their work as co-chairs of the Nebraska Medical Association Healthcare Reform Task Force.

Lindquist was elected to the board of directors of the Omaha Press Club at the club’s annual meeting on Jan. 20.
