Rubens Pamies, M.D., and Victoria Maclin, M.D., are featured in the “Portraits of Power 2010” exhibit at the W.Dale Clark Library in downtown Omaha. The exhibit features images of local black leaders from various professions. (Photos by Herb Thompson) |
The exhibit celebrates outstanding black leaders in Omaha and can be viewed for free through Jan. 31. It features photos of about dozen local black leaders from various professions.
Dr. Pamies is vice chancellor for academic affairs and Dr. Maclin is an associate professor in the department of obstetrics and gynecology.
The exhibit’s creator, Omaha photographer Herb Thompson, developed the idea for the exhibit while he did a multicultural mentoring project with local music and visual artist, Luigi Waites.
The 82-year-old Waites — an Omaha music legend — also is featured in the exhibit, as is Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Rodgers and Paul Bryant, director of the Wesley House.
