Lookin’ at U – Alice Kueh

Quick, think of five things others should know about you.

That’s the theme behind a series in UNMC Today called “Lookin’ at U.”

Each Thursday, we will randomly select a medical center employee to feature.

This week, we feature Alice Kueh, research project associate I in the department of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery.

Here, in her own words, are fun facts about Alice:

Alice Kueh
  • I was born and raised on the Borneo Island in a small town named Kuching, Malaysia.

  • Growing up, I learned to speak and write in three languages — English, Bahasa Melayu and Mandarin. I also speak three Chinese dialects fluently.

  • I earned a master’s in molecular nutrition at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL).

  • I am married to Dan who works at UNL as director of parking and transit and we have two lovely children, Abigail and Hayden (ages 2 and nine-months).

  • I met my husband through blind date that was set up by a mutual friend in 2003, and I’ve stuck with him since we first met. By the eighth date, he took me home to his family for Christmas (threw me to the wolves). I survived, of course!

Read UNMC Today next Thursday to see who is featured in the next Lookin’ at U article. Who knows — it could be U.
