UNMC recently was recognized by the Metro Omaha Tobacco Action Coalition (MOTAC) for its implementation of a tobacco-free policy on campus.
UNMC joins Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo, Weatherization Trust, Inc., and Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center as business honored by MOTAC for their tobacco-free efforts.
“We continue to see business owners implement tobacco-free policies that go above and beyond the requirements of the statewide smoke-free air law,” said Vickie Young, MOTAC President. “This shows that business owners recognize the benefits of a tobacco-free policy to their business.”
MOTAC is a coalition of health-related individuals, organizations and educational groups that fights tobacco through community action. MOTAC assists businesses that implement smoke-free policies and recognizes groups that commit to smoke-free environments.
