Seats remain for Tuesday south Omaha trolley tour

Partnership information

The tour is offered through the Time Travelers partnership, which provides free museum admission for medical center employees, students, and their immediate family with valid identification. The partnership also offers lectures, workshops and other events on the medical center campus.

Seats remain for “The Magic City” trolley tour, which will be held at noon on Tuesday.

The tour will highlight south Omaha’s rich history.

The former city of South Omaha was founded in 1884 with the creation of the Union Stockyards.

By 1890, it was the fastest growing city in the country and earned the nickname, “The Magic City.”

The trolley will pick up passengers outside the Durham Research Center. Seating is limited to 20 people and reservations must be made in advance.

All students and staff of UNMC, The Nebraska Medical Center and University of Nebraska Medical Center Physicians may attend.

Contact Kacie Gerard at kgerard@unmc.edu to reserve your space.

A $5 cash payment will be collected at the time of the tour prior to boarding the trolley.
